News & Announcement

Members

Wonshik Choi

Prof. Wonshik Choi serves as the director of the AI Physics Center as of September 2024. His research focuses on developing deep-tissue imaging techniques that enable the visualization of structures embedded deep within scattering media, such as skin tissue and the skull. As waves propagate through scattering media, they undergo multiple scattering events, causing the loss of object information and limiting imaging depth. His work aims to overcome this limitation by solving inverse scattering problems using multiply scattered waves reflected from the sample, reconstructing images by leveraging these scattered waves as valuable signals. Building on various physics-based wave propagation models, his recent research incorporates machine learning and deep learning techniques to further extend imaging depth.
